Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is set to supply nearly 35 MW of electricity to Ambe Steels, operated in Nepalgunj, Banke within one month. Right now, NEA supplies nearly 8MW electricity to the steel industry.
Ambe Steels has sought additional 27MW of electricity to upgrade its capacity. NEA by completing all necessary infrastructure to supply the electricity to the industry will be able to transfer the electricity within one month.
The 33KV double circuit transmission line from Kohalpur Substation being constructed for the supply is in the final phase. The construction of substations and capacity building in the steel industry has also reached the final phase.
NEA is stressing on increasing consumption of electricity both in household and industrial sector. Only an impactful increase in electricity consumption in the domestic market and sale of residual electricity to India can save nearly 500 MW of electricity produced otherwise get wasted.
For the industrial supply, NEA is constructing transmission lines and substations in the various parts of the country.
